The program was canceled in 2019 after the 2018 broadcast attracted only 3.2 million viewers, the lowest in its history, marking five consecutive years of declining ratings.
Over the past decade, the lingerie brand has faced several controversies. In 2018, Australian supermodel Robyn Lawley called for a boycott, criticizing the brand for promoting a narrow definition of beauty. Additionally, revelations about parent company L Brands’ CEO Les Wexner's connections to Jeffrey Epstein surfaced in 2019, and a 2020 investigation by the New York Times highlighted a culture of “misogyny, bullying, and harassment” within the brand.
In May, Victoria’s Secret announced the 2024 show on Instagram, stating they had “read the comments and heard you,” and promised a presentation that would “reflect who we are today, along with everything you know and love.”
This year, Tyra Banks is making her return after two decades, joining a stellar lineup that includes Gigi Hadid, Paloma Elsesser, Adriana Lima, Imaan Hammam, Candice Swanepoel, Grace Elizabeth, Taylor Hill, Mayowa Nicholas, Devyn Garcia, Barbara Palvin, Behati Prinsloo, Ashley Graham, and Jasmine Tookes. There may also be surprise guest angels making appearances.
Tonight's musical headliner is Grammy-winning artist Tyla, chosen for her “vibrant personality” and “innovative approach to pop and R&B,” according to Rolling Stone. This year features an all-female musical lineup, with performances from pop icon Cher and K-pop star Lisa.
The 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will air on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PST on Prime Video. The event will kick off with the Pink Carpet at 6:30 p.m. ET, which is free for all Amazon customers in the U.S.
