However, mere hours after its theatrical debut, Bougainvillea was leaked online on torrent sites such as Filmyzilla, Tamilrockers, and various Telegram channels in HD quality. This incident is not unprecedented, as previous films including Salaar, Kalki 2898 AD, Aavesham, GOAT, and Aadujeevitham have similarly fallen victim to piracy.

Directed and written by Amal Neerad, in collaboration with Lajo Jose on the screenplay, Bougainvillea promises a gripping cinematic experience. Synopsis:
The story follows Royce and Reethu, a happily married couple with two children, whose lives are shattered following an accident that leaves Reethu mentally affected.
