The versatile face of malayalam film industry Actress Kalpana passed away on Monday at Hyderabad. The actress was critically admitted at Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad.
According to initial reports Kalpana had reached in Hyderabad on Sunday afternoon for the shooting a bi-lingual film (Tamil and Telugu), and was staying at a hotel in the city. She was rushed to Apollo Hospital early on Monday morning after she was found unconscious. According to reports, her sister Urvashi is on her way to Hyderabad and the body will be brought back to Kerala.
The reason for the sudden demise is not known yet. She was 50 now.
Kalpana
born on 5th October 1965 as the daughter of theatre artists VP Nair and
Vijayalakshmi. Kalpana sister’s Urvashi and Kalaranjini are also
established actors.
She appear as a child artist in 1977 film ‘Vidarunna Mottukal” and went on to act in over 300 films in Malayalam and Tamil.
She
is recipient of National Award for best supporting actress for her film
Thanichalla Njan in 2012. She has also published her memories Njan
Kalpana.
She
last appeared in Dulquer Salman movie ‘Charlie’. She is now going away
from the limelight of silver screen by left out so many upcoming
