"Mythri” a
bilingual movie which released in kannada and Malayalam. Other than a realistic
story the main positive fact of this movie is the togetherness of Malayalam
Super star Mohanlal and Kannada power star Puneeth Rajkumar.
"Mythri" is a
social drama written and directed by "Jatta" Giriraj. The movie has
an interesting story that is based on the real-life incidents that Giriraj came
across. The movie revolves around the story of a yongster, who recalls his lost
childhood and the characters that he comes across in his life.
Puneeth Rajkumar has
played the protagonist in "Mythri." Viewers say it is not a regular
Puneeth film and it hardly has any of his punch dialogues, dance and fight
sequences. The film features a different Puneeth. Mohanlal, "Aa Dinagalu"
fame Archana, Bhavana, Atul Kulkarni and Ravi Kale have played important roles
in the movie, which has Ilaiyaraaja's music and Krishna Kumar's camera work.
Cast Performance
It is for the first time Puneeth Rajkumar is seen as an actor in a
movie. The actor play his own character, Powerstar Puneeth Rajkumar, hosting
the show Karunada Kotiyadipathi. Mohanlal is at his best in his
character, he plays a DRDO engineer/scientist in the movie. Mohanlal and Veda
Sastry's pairing up as a couple is feast for the viewers. Atul Kulkarni is
playing a Police Officer, whose acting melts heart of the audience. The
characters Johnson who play Siddu's friend at prison needs an appreciation.
Ravi Kale is good at portraying a corrupted politician in Mythri. Bhavana and Sadhu
Kokila has a small onscreen space, which can be said as a cameo role.
Beats
‘music Guru Ilaiyaraaja has
composed pleasant and chartbursting music album which has served as an
essential component for the script of Mythri. 'Chandranenu Chanda' song in
Kailash Kher's voice very heart-touching.
Technical Analysis
Mythri is a full package. It has good cinematography and very well
written screenplay. The movie gets a ‘thumbs up' for its technical aspects.
BottomLine
A stellar star cast,
comprising Mohanlal, Puneeth and Atul share screen space for the first time.
Add to that music by maestro Ilaiyaraaja, and you have a heady combination. The
treatment of the film and the story itself is very realistic. A must watch
movie with the whole family.
