Koothara is a mystery
thriller movie, directed by Srinath Rajendran after his critically acclaimed movie
Second Show. The movie features Bharath, Sunny wayne and Tovino Thomas in the
lead roles along with The Complete Actor Mohanlal, who plays an extended comeo
role in Koothara.

The film comes with the
quirkiest title Mollywood has ever seen, but Koothra is more of an acronym for
its leading trio - Kubrin, Tharun and Ram. “Kubrin joins the engineering
college when his father offers him a bike. Ram is an NRI, born and brought up
abroad. Tharun is another aimless youth and they all share a carefree attitude
towards life. While Bharat, Sunny Wayne and Tovino Thomas play the three heroes
Bhavana, Gauthami, Shritha, Janani and Madhurima complete the female front.
Yesteryear actress Renjini and Baburaj are also part of the cast.
Once the three of them
accidently met with a Usthad (Mohanlal), which changes their life style and
policies, what happend next forms the main crux of the movie.
Mohanlal, who looks
like a boorish sailor in the promos, seems to be the USP of the film.
Koothara is a complete
entertainment movie, which holds the campus drama, romance, feelings and
problems of life.
First half of the movie
says the life of three engineering college students life, it’s a heady mix of
drama, romance, humour, action. In the first half Bharath is highlighted and its make a
funfilling performance by all the characters leads in screen.
Second half started
with a bit of gloomy scene , according to first half second half is quite
slow and gloomy, but after the intro of
Mohanlal the movie get change into a new path. Then their start the real
suspence and serious mode.
Tail-end of the movie
is not much acceptable by the viewers , overall its a watchable movie with a
power packed performance of youth starts along with the complete actor’s unique
look.
Performance Analysis
Each of the actors in
the movie done their roles with above average perfection.
Bharat as Koobrin,
Sunny Wayne as Ram and Tovino Thomas as Tharun these young talents share most
of the screen space and they done a fabulous power packed performance.
Mohanlal as Usthad , he
made a dam good change of appearance and look. He have only an extended comeo
role but he made it much worthy.
Bhavana, Gauthami,
Shritha, Janani and Madhurima complete the female front, all done their role
perfect.
Technical Analysis
The movie got a big
media coverage due to the big star cast and the different look of Mohanlal. The
credit for this goes to the Casting director of the movie.
Soundtrack and background
score by Gopi Sunder was below average.
Cinematography by Pappu
and is the big positive backbone of the movie. Every scenes captured by him is
worthy.

The Movie is one time Watchable. There are lot to see and laugh during the first half but the movie disappointed during second half. The below average tail-end, and average 2nd half made the movie an Average flick. But as whole the movie is a good entertainer.
