Geethanjali is an upcoming Malayalam psychological thriller film written by Dennis Joseph and directing by Priyadarshan. Mohanlal will play the lead role in this film. He is playing the character Dr. Sunny (the character he acted in 1993 blockbuster Manichitrathazhu) even though this film is not a sequel of Manichitrathazhu. Along with Mohanlal, Innocent & Ganesh Kumar will be reprising their characters, Unnithan & Dasappan, from Manichitrathazhu. Priyadarshan has already worked as one of the second-unit directors, along with Siddique-Lal and Sibi Malayil in Manichitrathazhu. The film is produced by G. P. Vijayakumar under the banner Seven Arts International. The music department is handled by Vidyasagar and Prof. O. N. V. Kurup. Lalgudi N. Ilayaraja.
