Kili poyi Review, Kili Poyi Theater Collection Report

It is after a long time that a mainstream commercial movie with a leading star is being awarded ‘A’ certificate.

Kili Poyi is a Malayalam film directed by debutant Vinay Govind, a former associate of V. K. Prakash. The film stars Asif Ali, Aju Varghese,Sampath Raj, Raveendran, Samata Agrawal, Sabreen Baker, Sandra Thomas, Sreejith Ravi, Joju & Mridul Nair in major roles. The original music & background score of the film are composed by Rahul Raj.

The story revolves around two young men Chacko and Hari played by Asif Ali and Aju Varghese working in an Ad Company in Bangalore. Harassed by their boss (played by Sandra Thomas), they decide to leave it all and head over to Goa to have fun. But there, they get more than they bargained for. They meet a beautiful foreigner Rachel (Sabreen Baker) and get embroiled in many troubles in the form a mysterious bag of cocaine and an angry boss.

Performances Analysis

Asif Ali and Aju Varghese have done justice to their roles. Unfortunately, a predictable and unexciting script lets them down. The film fails to impress with its weak story line. However the audience is kept entertained as the movie packs quite a lot of risqué jokes which earned it an A-Certificate.

The director Vinay Govind who has worked under V.K Prakash has done a good job. He has ensured that the movie is fast paced and does not bore the audience. When it comes to music, title song and background score by Rahul Raj are excellent. Camera work by Pradheesh is very remarkable.

Verdict

A watchable movie of 1hour 40 minute duration, targeted for the youngsters is what ‘Kili Poyi’ is all about. Hilarious dialogues, good performances and interesting climax make the movie watchable.
