The shoot of Anil’s new
film ‘Climax’ that is based on the life and death of Silk Smitha is complete.
The film stars Sana Khan in the lead role, and has been scripted by Kaloor
Dennis. The markers of the film have released the posters of ‘Climax’ that look
kinda interesting. The designs are by Hasan Darvish. Take a look!
‘The Dirty Picture’ is
said to have been inspired by Silk Smitha’s tale, and had brought the actress
under the limelight years after she was gone. The film was a hit, and remakes
in several otherlanguages are
being planned. However a new film that attempts to take a closer look at the
real life of Smitha is being planned in Malayalam!
Antony Eastman,
renowned Malayalam film director, who had known Smitha personally, and who had introduced her to films would be
producing this new film, and Kaloor Dennis would be scripting it. Dennis too
knew Smitha personally, and the film would be directed by Anil.
Anil has also had the
opportunity to interact with Smitha while shooting for his film ‘Saakshal
Sreeman Chaathunni’. The hunt for an actress who could portray the character is
currently on. Let’s wait and see how different the Malayalam version
of the life of the actress is going to be different from ‘The Dirty Picture’!
The shoot of ‘Climax’,
the film that would take a closer look at Silk Smitha’s life, has started at
Coimbatore. ‘Climax’ is being directed by Anil. The film would have nothing to
do with ‘The Dirty Picture’, the Bollywood film that was also loosely based on
the actress’s life.
The story of the film
is by Antony Eastman who had introduced the Telugu actress by the name of
Vijayalakshmi to Malayalam films. It is being scripted by Kaloor Dennis, who
had scripted around ten films that had Silk Smitha playing a key role.
Sana Khan would play
the lead role in ‘Climax’, while debutante actor Subin Sunny would play the
male lead. Suresh Krishna, Baburaj, Lakshmi Sharma, Manuraj, Shanthi and
Cherthala Lalitha offer support. ‘Climax’ is being produced by P J Thomas under
the banner of Nice Movies.
