2015, one of the best year for Malayalam film industry. In this golden year we saw the ever big hits like ‘Premam’, ‘Ennu ninte Moidheen’..
The year 2015 started with low phase releases like ‘Sand City’, ‘Akashangalil’, ‘Perariyathavar’. And by the end of January we got some hits. On January 23, star movies like Mariyam Mukku, Mili, Picket 43, Rasam. And these movies Prithviraj starer Major Ravi Film ‘Picket 43’ become the first hit of 2015.
Rajesh Pillai movie Mili focused on issues faced by a girl from her near society, Amala Paul got critical appreciation but, in box office it become an average hit.
Fahad Fazil - James Albert movie, “Mariyam Mukku” deals with the life of coastal area peoples, with a unique Latin Christian culture. The film also depicts a romantic story between Felix, (Fahadh Faasil) and Salomi (Sana Althaf), But it also not made any huge impression on box office. And Later comes Indrajith - Rajeev Nath movie ‘Rasam’, the film based on food, tastes, restaurants and catering services and mainly shooted in Doha. Its noticed because of the cameo appearance of Mohanlal as himself, but even though it failed to impress the critics as well as the box office. In 14 movies only 4 got noticed in January.
In
the month February, started with Jayasurya - Midhun Manual comical road
movie ‘Aadu’. The film went down during the time of its release,but got
widely acclaimed once the DVDs got released. Jayasurya’s Black and Red
costume combination got surprisingly popular, and after a long time
youth in Kerala started to following malayalam stars costumes.
Later
on February 19, Mammootty - Dipu Karunakaran movie ‘Fireman’ got
released and it went a big hit in Box office. Again from 14 just 2 movie
got noticed in February.
In
March Malayalam started making biggie noise in Box office with Nivin
Pauly - Prajith movie “Oru Vadakkan Selfie”. Nivin pauly- Aju Vargese
duo again made first BlockBuster of 2015. And the same day another
biggie hit also came, Sathyan Anthikad - Mohanlal, Manju Warrier movie
‘Ennum Eppozhum” become a slow phase hit in Box office as Vishu release.
And a noticed one is Dulquer Salman Movie ‘100 Days of Love’ got
failed to impress viewers as well as the critics.
April
is the Lazy month of the year, and got only 2 releases. Dileep’s “Ivan
Maryadaraman” and Mammootty BlockBuster “Bhaskar the Rascal”. Ivan
Maryadaraman become an average hit , and same time Mammootty-Nayatara
movie got wide appreciation from viewers and critics and become a
blockbuster for Mammooty of the year 2015.
May,
the biggie moth of the year. Ever Big BlockBuster superhit “Premam”,
‘Chandrettan Evideya’, first official malayalam spoof ‘Chirakodinja
Kinavukal’. ‘Oru Second Class Yathra’, ‘Laila O Laila’, ‘Neena’, ‘Sir
CP’, ‘Kumbasaram’ and ‘Ivide’.
Premam
made an unexpected super hit of the history of malayalam. As per the
business analyst if Piracy not affected then Premam will be 100 Crore
movie of Malayalam. Anyway ‘Premam’ got sensation in all over India and
crazly ‘Sai Pallavi’ become social media superstar.
Later
the year saw so many hit movies like. Asif Ali - VKP Movie
“Nirnayakam’, Kunchacko Boban - Sugeeth Movie “madhura Naranga”, its
gave a new actress to malayalam, the daughter of film actor Ratheesh and
Diana, Parvathy Ratheesh.
KL 10 Pathu, Love 24x7, Ayal Njanalla, Loham, Utopiayile Rajavu, Jamna Pyari, Kunjiramayanam.
And
later in September another BlockBuster of Malayalm came , Prithviraj -
RS Vimal movie “Ennu Ninte Moideen”, the movie deals with the realistic
story of Moideen and Kanchanamala. Prithviraj continues his super hit
journey in later movies like “Amar Akbar Anthony” and “Anarkali”. And in
the month November he made a history by having 3 movies in success
running on same time in theater.
The year 2015 ends with some more superhit movies like “Charlie”, “Two Countries”, “Adi Kapyare Kootamani”.
So now the time to look forward for the year 2016, First release start on tomorrow (Jan 2) by Unni Mukundan’s “Style”.
